Apple released the iPhone 2.2 update late last night, and I installed it this morning. Of particular interest in the release notes is this saucy item:
- Improved stability and performance of Safari
Ooh! I plan on putting this claim to the test. Immediately after I updated, I opened up Mobile Safari and viewed a few of the sites that generally don’t agree with my iPhone. Surprisingly, no crashes! Interesting! But, one isolated test a conclusion does not draw… from? I will keep track of when or if Safari crashes, and keep you updated.

I installed 2.2 last night on my 3G and everytihing appeared great until I went to delete some pictures I had taken. The phone resets every time I attempt to delete the photos. I do Local Disck C, Iphone, then the picture file opens. I can cut and paste photos fine. I am using XP SP3 and get the following error signatures:
SZAppName: svchost.exe SzAppVer:5.1.2600.5512
SZModName: wiaservc.dll SzModVer: 5.1.2600.5512
Just when I though I was out of the woods…

I just installed 2.2 today and here are the problems so far:
-Slider controls do not work in General Settings
-Constantly crashes in voicemail mode
Gee, thanks Apple for the suckass beta version of your iPhone software!

Watch out! I installed 2.2 last night and my phone crashed in the middle of the operation and can not be restored.
